Little Princess Trust

The Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides wigs for children and young people who have lost their hair due to serious illness. They can only do this thanks to people who donate
their hair.

Due to the Coronavirus and lockdown, hair donations to the charity have unfortunately dropped by 75% leaving lots of young people in need.

John Frieda have partnered with The Little Princess Trust to encourage people, who have perhaps let their hair grow longer than ever before, to donate their lockdown locks and support children to feel more confident.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT:

1.       Donate - either your lockdown locks or a monetary donation
2.       Nominate one friend to do the same to spread the word!

HOW TO DONATE YOUR HAIR

Donating hair is easier than you might think.

TYPE OF HAIR NEEDED:

  • The donated hair needs to be over 7 inches (17cm long).
  • If you have especially long hair, then all the  better. The greatest need is for hair over 16 inches (41cms). But if your hair is shorter, the charity can still use your hair, if it complies with the hair donation guidelines
  • The Little Princess Trust requires clean dry hair from any gender. They can’t accept wet hair.
  • Hair should be in great condition, without split ends and of any natural colour. Hair can be dyed but it must be in a colour that’s ‘natural’ - i.e. no pink or blue, please!

HOW TO DONATE

You can do this yourself at home or at the salon.

  • Wash and dry your hair, without using conditioner or styling products.
  • Place your clean dry hair into a ponytail.
  • Secure with hair bands at the top and bottom of the hair.
  • Ask your hairdresser to cut above the top band.
  • Put the ponytail into a padded or cardboard envelope.
  • Include your completed Hair Donation Donor Details Form.
  • Post your hair and completed form to:
