How to get beach waves hair with a straightener

If you have forever straight hair, you may need the help of a heat styler to create that tousled trend. Using straighteners is also a great way to create beach waves for short hair. Due to its length, braiding is often not an option when it comes to getting those beautiful beachy waves on short locks, so using straighteners is the perfect solution (just make sure to prep your hair with heat protection spray beforehand!).
There are a range of ways you can use straighteners to do this and it all depends on the type of beachy wave you're going for! For example, create 'S' waves by making a bend in your locks and then clamping your straightener in the shape of an 'S'.
Alternatively, try the twirl-and-pull method, by twirling your straightener away from your face and repeating this as you move down until the ends of your hair.
Once you've created your desired beach waves, run your fingers through your hair or tip your head upside down for a more tousled, naturally wavy look.
If you find your waves are losing their oomph easily, try our ultra-lightweight Luxurious Volume Hairspray to hold your style in place.

How to get beach waves overnight

For natural, no-heat beach waves, it’s as easy as shampooing, conditioning and plaiting your hair overnight in a braided hairstyle that suits the sort of wave you’re going for.
After washing and conditioning with Luxurious Volume Touchably Full Shampoo and Conditioner, towel dry your locks before applying our Luxurious Volume Perfectly Full Mousse and combing through.
Divide your hair into three sections, plait each one of them and leave overnight. If you’re keen to create a specific type of curl (whether it’s spiral curls, tight
curls or simply loose waves) check out our guide on how to get wavy hair overnight.
Rise and shine to unplait your locks, revealing perfectly tousled beach waves hair... now that’s what we call beauty sleep!

How to get beach waves with a curling wand

For glam beach hair, we recommend using a curling wand, starting the curl half way down your hair strands and twisting it around the barrel - for the perfect beach to bar look. This style looks its best when your hair is looking healthy and shiny, so apply our Detox & Repair Masque at least once a week and leave on for 3-5 minutes before rinsing. Make sure to prep your hair before styling with our Heat Defeat Protecting Spray too!

After styling, to ensure a low-key glossy look, we recommend applying a small amount of our Secret Agent Touch-Up Crème to the ends of your hair to seal in moisture, keep frizz and flyaways at bay and to give a shiny, finished texture!
