Salon glosses are applied by a stylist in the salon to provide gloss, texture, and maintenance of colour. Colour Refreshing Gloss from John Frieda restores vibrancy and tonality between colouring, while counteracting fading, neutralizing colour change, correcting the appearance of dull, washed out colour. Unlike permanent colour treatments, Colour Refreshing Gloss revives shades with a gentle and non-damaging process. Mild cosmetic dyes are used in conjunction with our patented delivery system which allows the dyes to actually penetrate the hair shaft. This allows for even colour distribution and intense shine.
The technology used in Colour Refreshing Gloss is a combination of mild cosmetic dyes and shine enhancers. When these dyes are used in conjunction with our patented delivery system this allows for the dyes to actually penetrate the hair shaft. This allows for even colour distribution and intense shine.
Demi-permanent and permanent colour both utilize oxidative dyes and peroxide to develop the colour. These kits contain two bottles that you mix together to get your colour. The colour they develop is very intense and lasts 6 –8 weeks. Permanent hair colour will also lighten your natural hair colour if desired. Colour Refreshing Gloss is made with mild cosmetic dyes, which are found in many beauty products. Colour Refreshing Gloss is designed to add a hint of colour and shine to refresh hair colour. It will not lighten hair colour.
Colour Refreshing Gloss is designed to refresh and optimize the look and feel of your hair colour. It will boost faded permanent hair colour. Colour Refreshing Gloss does not contain peroxide and cannot lighten hair colour. Therefore, it is not a meant as a replacement for permanent colour.
Start with shampoo and conditioner. Squeeze excess water out of hair. Dispense a quarter-sized amount of product into hand and spread from root through entire length of hair. Repeat process 3-5 times to ensure middle to ends of hair are evenly saturated with gloss. Wash hands with soap. Leave gloss on for at least 3 minutes, then rinse. Style as usual. Colour results intensify over time.
If you are a Precision Foam Colour user, you can find your shade in the list on the side of the Colour Refreshing Gloss box. If your brand or shade is not on the list, please reference the swatch examples that we have provided on the Warm vs. Cool page on our John Frieda Precision Foam Colour website. Warm shades are in the gold/copper family and therefore have golden or caramel undertones. Cool colours are in the blue family and tend to be ashy in tone.
Use the Colour Refreshing Gloss product that matches your lighter part. If you have vivid highlights or streaks on blonde hair, we recommend using Colour Refreshing Gloss For Blondes.
For example, if you have brunette hair and blonde highlights, please use Colour Refreshing Gloss For Blondes. Colour Refreshing Gloss For Blondes refreshes your highlights and provides shine on your brunette hair. If you would like to mainly refresh brunette hair, you can use Colour Refreshing Gloss For Brunettes. In that case, your high lights may become slightly darker. When your highlights becomes too dark, stop using Colour Refreshing Gloss. Then wash hair with your regular shampoo or a clarifying shampoo. The colour will wash out over time.
